“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”
-Lao Tzu
When we allow children to develop on their own terms and in their own timing, we demonstrate that there is a natural intelligence flowing through each of us that knows the way.
The same wisdom that calls the birds home from their winter migration is the wisdom that flows through everyone if we only have ears to hear it. In a world that pushes us to sacrifice our instincts in order to “survive,” allowing people to be who they are is a rebellious act, and an act of change.
I choose a world where we experience the subtle natural way operating within each of us.
A world that demonstrates there are a billion right ways to live and each one speaks to us individually. Can you feel the difference between the pressure of thinking you need to be something more or something different in order to survive, and relaxing into the acceptance of how you are, and the trust that this inner-connection is all you need to thrive?
Can we see that the pressure of being what we are not lies to us? It tempts us to prove ourselves worthy, to join in the hypnotic rush to nowhere, all the while dragging us away from the perfection that is already here: The simple miracle of being.
I choose the way of the Ancient and yet somehow Brand New Earth. And I choose to give my kids the chance to live this vision, kindled at first in the still-fiery portions of our hearts intact.
